How to reach Rameshwaram from Delhi by train

The cheapest way to reach Rameshwaram from New Delhi is to take Mas Duronto Exp from New Delhi to Chennai then take State transport bus from Chennai to Rameshwaram. The nearest railway station to Rameshwaram is the Rameshwaram Railway station. Trains to Rameshwaram leave from H Nizamuddin station, New Delhi station, Delhi Sarai Rohilla Station and Old Delhi station. The transit stations are MADURAI JN, DINDIGUL JN, CHENNAI EGMORE, TIRUCHCHIRAPALI, MANMAD JN, H SAHIB NANDED, VADODARA JN, KACHEGUDA, AHMEDABAD JN, SURAT and JALGAON JN.
If you prefer Rajdhani you have two options. Travel from New Delhi-Chennai and from Chennai change another train either to Rameshwaram or Kanyakumari and return also same way. You can also travel from New Delhi- Trivandrum Rajdhani and from Trivandrum kanyakumari is around 60 km cover Rameswaram by taxi or train while returning from Rameswaram, go to Chennai to catch return Rajdhani because from Rameswaram you do not have direct train to Trivandrum to catch Rajdhani.
