Brick and Mortar

Brick and Mortar

Government of Grenada Financial Complex
St. George’s, Grenada

Downtown St. George’s is a great spot for all kinds of photography; I wish I had done more of it. Though I bought a fancy travel tripod for this trip, almost all my shots were handheld—like this one, which I think works best in pure black and white.

Not sure why I chose f/4.0 here, but the result is sharp enough for my tastes. Unfortunately the top of the building was clipped by distortion correction (which is badly needed with this lens at 16mm). Live and learn.

I really love the zoom range of this lens and I think it’s performance is quite good, but I wish it had the build quality and distortion performance of the 14-24mm f/2.8 Nikkor. However, the inability to screw a filter onto the latter was a deal breaker for me.

Taken with the Singh-Ray LB ColorCombo.
